What is a svithe?
The word svithe is a portmanteau made by combining seven and tithe--the idea being that one day in the week, this blogger devotes himself to what he hopes is a higher sort of something.
With time, this original meaning has been broadened to something more like this:
A blogpost which is a) spiritually themed, b) on a blog generally not so wholly focused on spiritual things, and c) called a svithe.

A svithe is a post designed for the purport of uplifting the mind beyond the mundane, humorous and into the eternal.
